A fun way to incorporate maths with your topic on Animals, Pets and / or clothing. Cut out the 24 colour pictures of socks for children to make into pairs of Pets socks. Children can look out for pattern and colour to help them with their sorting and matching. Once the socks are all paired, children can use the sock template worksheet to create their own Pet sock designs on the white socks and make these into matching pairs. There is a blank sheet that children can paste pairs onto or draw their own socks and designs. For younger children and / or a practical element, ask children to bring in a pair of socks and create a class sorting sock activity! Another idea is to have a box of socks that children rummage through to find matching pairs – use a timer for more fun!
